Our office coordinates emergency preparedness and response activities within our community.
Our Committee
The Millbrook EMO Committee is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the emergency management plan and managing volunteers and other activities. The committee is comprised of staff from housing, bylaw and security, finance and representatives from our satellite reserves.
Preparation
Working with regional, provincial and federal governments and response agencies to create, manage and review emergency plans
Develop preparation materials and guiding documents for distribution to community members
Training EMO responders
Recovery
Coordinating activities after the emergency period that focus on restoring community functions
Mitigation
Work to reduce the risk of injury or life to community members and damage to property and infrastructure
Response
Activating emergency operations
Opening operations and comfort centres
Leading and facilitating evacuations
Coordinating emergency rescue and medical care
