What We Do

Our Economic Development staff assists businesses within our community, supporting them to grow and achieve their goals. We also negotiate with stakeholders on behalf of the community and offer entrepreneurs support in developing business plans and securing funding. 

Equity Incentive FAQs

  • No, we are not asking for your personal banking information, this section is used to determine how you intend to finance your business. As the program only covers 80% of eligible expenses you will need to show you are able finance your business.

  • It depends, if your ask is below $750.00 a formal business plan is not required, requests over $750.00 require a formal business plan.

  • Yes, we can assist you in completing your business plan at no cost to you or you can use online tools provided by third parties:

  • To qualify for the maximum amount your business plan needs to show that you expect to incur expansion or start up costs more than $10,000.00

  • Yes, the Cottage craft program provides 100% reimbursement of materials and tools used to create culturally significant crafts and renews annually. The Equity Incentive program carries a lifetime maximum contribution of $2,000.00 and is based on a 20% of eligible expenses formula. The equity incentive does not renew annually.

  • No, this program is funded entirely through the Millbrook’s own source revenue.
