Employment Opportunity - Human Resources Generalist
Millbrook First Nation is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the organization’s people, culture, and HR operations. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role contributes directly to building a positive, inclusive, and well-supported workplace for all employees.
The HR Generalist provides day-to-day HR guidance across the organization, supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance processes, compliance, policy development, and training coordination. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
In this role, the HR Generalist will:
Support employees and managers with HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Lead the full recruitment and onboarding cycle.
Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace inquiries.
Coordinate performance reviews, training, and professional development initiatives.
Maintain HR records and support policy updates, reporting, and compliance.
Contribute to building an engaged, respectful, and culturally safe work environment.
Ideal candidates bring HR experience, knowledge of employment legislation, strong relationship-building skills, and a commitment to supporting a healthy and productive organization. Understanding of Mi’kmaw culture and community values is considered an asset.
